From the Pastor’s Desk

Leadership at CNC

A word to the 2013 CNC Leadership Team, it is imperative that there be

Unity within our community.  It is extremely important that we are on the same page concerning leadership philosophy, Christian doctrine and the culture of CNC.

Leadership Philosophy    To be a leader within CNC is to walk with others on their life’s journey from earth to heaven.  We hesitate to give road maps or easy answers.  Spirituality is discovered and unfolds.  Faith in God is never forced on people.  We are to encourage, pray, model, and point away from self and to Jesus Christ.

Christian Doctrine   The New Testament is our authority for morals and belief.  One difficulty we often have is that we accept teachings and practices uncritically.  We are to be like the Berean Christians of Acts 17.  At the end of the day, Christians are to give witness to the Death and Resurrection of Jesus and His love.

The CNC Culture We are to love and care for one another.  CNC is a community of love.  We are a culture of placing others before self.  There are no superstars at CNC.  Every person is as important as every other person.  Pastor Ellison does not rule over CNC, but serves CNC.  Love, not Church politics, is what CNC is about.

God is with us.  Let’s focus our efforts to lift up the name.

What is God's Plan of Salvation?

First, God loves you and there is nothing you can do about it. Holy Scripture says, "God so loved the world...."

Secondly, sin separates us from knowing God. Sin is to act, speak and, even think thoughts that are wrong. The Bible says, "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God."

Thirdly, Jesus paid for our sins. Scripture states, "God proved His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us."  The Bible further states, "As many as receive Jesus Christ, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name."

Finally, repent, turn away from a life of sin and turn to Jesus Christ. We turn to Jesus Christ by faith, choosing to believe in His Life, Death, and Resurrection.

If you are ready to give your life to Jesus Christ, the following prayer may help you take that next step.

"Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of the wrong I have done and give me the gift of eternal life. I ask you into my life and heart to be my Lord and Savior. I pray, give me grace to follow you all the days of my life and use me to tell others about you.  Amen."
